Horizon Europe

CircSyst

CircSyst is a Horizon Europe-funded project that stems from a collaborative effort involving 32 partners across 8 countries, spanning a duration of 3 years for a total budget of € 10, 244, 330.61.

CircSyst aims to establish large-scale pilot systems that implement circular business models to be widely replicated at the European level. This will be achieved by launching 9 demonstrators, each developing solutions relating to three priority value chains of the Circular Economy Plan: wastewater reuse, bio-waste valorisation, and food packaging waste valorisation.
The implementation of these measures will initially take place in the following regions: Riba-roja (Spain), Podravje (Slovenia), Flanders (Belgium), Visby (Sweden), Paijat-Hame-Lahti (Finland), Castilla la Mancha (Spain), Valencian Community (Spain), Thessaloniki (Greece), and East and Central Hungary. These regions will share their experiences and best practices, enabling replication of the solutions in other regions. In doing so, the participating regions and partners will co-create validated roadmaps for sustainable circular economy practices, enhancing industrial symbiosis and fostering cross-sectoral and cross-border replication.
The coordinator of CircSyst is AIJU- Instituto Tecnológico de Producto Infantil y Ocio. EURADA’s primary role in the project is to lead the project’s communication and dissemination activities, while supporting the project’s administration, exploitation, and knowledge transfer for the circular economy.
CircSyst is a response to the Horizon Europe Work Programme HORIZON-CL6-2023-CIRCBIO-02 call and is dedicated to promoting a circular economy and finding circular systemic solutions as part of the European Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI).
