The EU project Connecting the Danube Region with Historical Roman Roads - ISTER, as part of the Interreg Danube Transnational Program, focuses on the challenges of the unconnectedness of Roman heritage. The project deals with the territorial dimension of Roman routes as a border transnational element, which crosses the state borders of the Danube region and provides an important foundation for exchange and joint development. Therefore, the main goal of the ISTER project focuses on the rediscovery and revitalization of the ancient network of Roman roads in the Danube region, as a key driver of improving territorial development based on the sustainable use of cultural and natural heritage.
The third capitalisation workshop within the EU project 'Connecting the Danube Region with Historical Roman Roads - ISTER' was held recently. As one of the partners, RAUSK was present to introduce the interested participants from the public and private sector with the activities realized so far, as well as with future activities within the project.
The aim of the workshop was to showcase the successful cooperation between participants, with a focus on creating ideas for the promotion of Roman cultural heritage, and further opportunities for transnational cooperation, promotion and cultural exchange within Roman routes along the Danube region, focusing on the post-ISTER project.
