Implementation of RRI keys through a digital transformation of territories

EURADA organised in the framework of TeRRItoria project the 5th #ResponsibleRegions dialogue. The topic of this occasion was ICT in regional innovation strategies. Academics and experts on economic development discussed with Jean-Jacques Bernardini how could be implemented responsible research innovation in practice. Dr Bernanrdi is a recognised expert from the development agency Grand E-Nov+. He made an inspirational speech about his development agency, the main results of DigiTeRRI and how these results are applied in the french region of Grand Est to ensure ethics, inclusiveness and open data.

The event was very interesting for RDAs because ICT is in the cornerstone of all European regional innovation strategies. Following the discussion, it was concluded that a key element to make it successful is to deploy a shared vision. Accordingly with Christoph Schneider (one of the panellists), these shared visions should involve all the regional actors from the earlier stages to avoid the development of actions that are not inclusive. Dr Schenider is a researcher of the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis of KIT Karlsruhe.

Two members of EURADA provided their experiences. Daniel Janeiro from ADRAL, and Director of the incubator EvoraTech explained how important the preservation of talent in regions with traditional economics was. Antonio Romero, the head of the innovation department of INFO, the development agency of Murcia, explained the relevance that Agencies gather all competences to develop the territorial vsion . In this case, the digitisation of the territory takes into account the quadruple helix, especially with the deployment of tools to engage citizens and the society in general. There was a discussion about to implement in practice the involvement of society. The video of the dialogue is going to be published in the YouTube channel of TeRRItoria project.
