DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES FACING SIMILAR CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

EURADA has participated in the fifth edition of the World Forum of Economic Development. This global event is celebrated in Cordoba (Argentina) but organised online; it had to be cancelled at the last minute on 2020. EURADA has contributed with speakers in all the previous editions of this Forum launched in Seville in 2011.

The Forum changes every edition of the continent (Europe, Africa, Asia, America), and is organized by an important set of international entities led by United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Regions Organization (ORU FOGAR), the Global Network of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the Andalusian Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity (FAMSI), etc.

In the 2021 edition, EURADA delegation was leaded by the President Roberta Dall'Olio from AR-TER, with Rafael Escamilla from IVACE (and secretary of ForoADR), and Esteban Pelayo Director of EURADA. Within the framework of EURADA’s close cooperation agreement with the Argentine Federation of Development Agencies (FADELRA), we exchange experiences and possibilities of cooperation between development agencies. The measures taken to solve the economic crisis were presented, finding similar solutions for common challenges. Considering the extension of the online events, it was concluded that it will be possible to reinforce cooperation agreements and a close relationship between regional development experts from one side of the Atlantic and the other. The Forum will close today 1st of June 2021.
