Call for Expressions of Interest: Join the CircSyst Community of Practice

Article written by Cristina Sanz Rutherford – Policy and Project Officer

EURADA is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for regional development practitioners and stakeholders committed to advancing the circular economy: the Call for Expressions of Interest to join the CircSyst Community of Practice (CoP).

As a project under the umbrella of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI), CircSyst is developing Circular Systemic Solutions (CSS) across key product value chains identified in the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP): water, bio-waste, plastics and packaging.

Across Europe, cities and regions are at the forefront of the transition towards more resilient, circular, and sustainable economies. However, this shift requires more than technological solutions, it depends on multi-stakeholder collaboration, capacity-building, and knowledge sharing, which is why the CircSyst CoP plays a key role.

CircSyst is currently piloting innovative CSS in nine demonstrator sites across Europe, with a strong focus on their replicationandscalability potential in other regions. In this sense, the project’s CoP will serve as a dynamic platform to enhance the implementation and uptake of these solutions.

Why join the CircSyst Community of Practice?

  • Gain access to best practices, replication reports, and case studies in circular economy implementation;
  • Join multiple online and in-person events to co-create policy recommendations and foster scalability;
  • Access community mentoring through online discussion boards (i.e., a LinkedIn group) and tailored peer mentoring on the CircSyst solutions;
  • Participate in mutual learning study visits to the demonstrator sites;
  • Apply for professional mobility to the demonstrator sites for up to two weeks to learn about the replicability and scalability potential of the CSS.

Who can join? Membership is open (but not limited) to:

  • Regional Development Agencies and other regional practitioners;
  • Policymakers and public authorities at local, regional, and national levels;
  • Businesses and industry representatives working on circular economy;
  • Researchers and academics focused on sustainability, resource efficiency, and industrial symbiosis;
  • NGOs and civil society organisations advocating for systemic change;
  • Innovation hubs, clusters, and intermediaries facilitating circular transitions.

Participation in the CircSyst CoP is flexible. Whether you choose to actively contribute or simply stay informed, you will be part of a growing network committed to advancing circular economy solutions.
