15th MEETING OF THE SMART HERITAGE WORKING GROUP

This event will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss innovative ways to involve citizens in preserving cultural heritage.

We are excited to feature two distinguished speakers:

  • Ms. Elena Bianchi will present "The Power of Example: Inspiring Citizen Engagement through the Winners of the European Heritage Awards." She will highlight seven award-winning projects and promote the 2025 Call for Entries to encourage further collaboration in European heritage. Elena is the Programme Manager for the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards and has over 16 years of experience in celebrating excellence in cultural heritage, specializing in fostering community engagement and collaboration across Europe.
  • Mr. Amilcar Vargas from Casa Batlló will discuss "Illuminating Heritage: Casa Batlló's Journey of Engagement, Creativity, and Inclusion." He will share insights into Casa Batlló's innovative approach to cultural heritage, featuring projects like immersive video mappings and programs for neurodivergent inclusion. Amilcar is an expert in World Heritage management and has extensive experience with UNESCO and other World Heritage sites.
