A research project, ToBe aims to define the transition towards a well-being economy beyond economic indicators such as GDP. The multi-disciplinary consortium that forms ToBe joined the meeting both in person and online.
After the dinner in Finlayson Palace in Tampere’s City Center on Monday evening, the official meeting kicked off on Tuesday at the stunning Hangaslahti Meeting Venue. The cabin’s beautiful views of Näsijärvi Lake set the scene for a day of high-level discussions about the project’s vision.
Through the contribution to theoretical and empirical knowledge, the project aims to advance the understanding of sustainable well-being and inclusive economy beyond GDP. The ToBe Consortium is formed by researchers and policymakers from Europe, Africa and South America, who had the chance to introduce their tasks within a short introduction to each Work Package. EURADA’s representative, Project Officer María Midón, presented the Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation Work Package, which EURADA will be leading for the duration of the project.
Wednesday’s meetings took place at Tampere University, and involved practicalities such as the financial aspects, the coordinator’s role in the project, the regularity of consortium meetings or the external communication principles. After lunch at the Technopolis building, the project partners started their trips back to Helsinki, marked by a national-level train strike.
ToBe’s Kick-Off Meeting was an excellent opportunity for EURADA to get to know the Project Partners, gain insightful information about the research to be conducted within the scope of ToBe, and define the groundwork needed to carry out the communication and dissemination tasks within the project’s lifetime.
ToBe is a Horizon Europe-funded project that started on the 1st of March 2023 and will be active for 36 months. For more information about the project, contact María Midón.
