Written by María Fabregat – Institutional Relations Assistant

As part of the Erasmus+ project One Block for Educational Credentials (OBEC), the EURADA secretariat organised the project’s final Multiplier event on Thursday 22 September between 14:30 and 17:30 (CEST) at Atelier29, Brussels. This final event offered a programme involving various relevant experts and stakeholders such as educators, employers, industrial organisations, the labour market, and public service officials.

The OBEC project

The OBEC Project is a KA2 Strategic Partnership that is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. The project had a duration of two years with the consortium meeting and final event as the official conclusion of the project.  The OBEC consortium consists of five partners from Belgium (EURADA – Association Europeenne Des Agences Developpement), Croatia (SIMORA – Regional Development Agency of Sisak-Moslavina County), Italy LAI-MOMO Società Cooperativa Sociale & Università degli studi di Urbino Carlo Bo) and is coordinated by SwIdeas (Sweden). The project seeks to examine how Blockchain technology could help advance the recognition of talents and certifications by using the cutting-edge Blockchain ECTA platform. The project aims to promote the academic and professional integration of immigrants, exchange students, expatriates and people with diverse educational backgrounds. Project partners assessed the platform by conferring certifications on graduates of training sessions completed earlier in the year. The results of the 'testing phase' were presented to the audience during the final event by specialists.

Before the Multiplier event, project partners met for the final Consortium Meeting on the 21 of September at EURADA Premises in Brussels, to consider in an open discussion the results of the project, the issues encountered, its dissemination, and recommendations and suggestions for the Final Event.

Thereafter, Alen Lipus, the ECTA developer from Quama explained the platform in more detail. The second part of the event consisted of a hybrid Roundtable discussion where experts analysed the potential of Blockchain and its application to recognise credentials for competence and capacity certification.
