Ivace has supported more than a hundred projects in energy communities and in 2023 it will allocate €5million

The Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (Ivace), under the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labour, has supported a total of 118 renewable energy projects in energy communities since 2020, for which it has allocated €5.2 million.

The head of Sustainable Economy, Rafael Climent, has stressed that the Regional Ministry, through the Ivace will continue to support "decisively the expansion of this type of communities" and has advanced that for next year will allocate a total of €5 million to the development of projects in this type of communities.

Thus, the councillor explained that this year, there are now three editions of the Ivace aid line to promote self-consumption of electricity facilities in renewable energy communities and "the number of projects supported has increased significantly from 7 projects the first year, to 48 in 2021 and 70 initiatives this year.

In addition, he added, Ivace is working on collaborative projects between the different agents, energy communities, companies, cooperatives, technology institutes, municipalities and regional administration, "with the aim of maximising the potential offered by renewable energy communities".

Ivace aid for Energy Communities

The Ivace line of aid is aimed at any renewable energy community or energy community, town councils, as well as communities of owners, through which up to 45% of the cost of projects for self-consumption of electricity from renewable energy or waste energy, in the regime of renewable energy communities is subsidised. The purpose of the group's activity must be to provide environmental, economic or social benefits to its members or to the local areas where it operates, rather than financial gain.

For us, it is always a pleasure to stand out in how countries and regions succeed with the cooperation of regional actors like IVACE. We are confident that Spain and the Valencian region will be at the forefront of renewable technologies shortly as their actions have shown us.
