The call for subsidies, establishes three lines of action: one for localities at risk of depopulation with 2 million euros, another for the rest of the municipalities of the Valencian region with a budget of 28 million euros and a new specific line of 10 million euros, aimed at industrial areas that have validly constituted by plenary agreement a Management and Modernisation Entity (MME).
The councillor for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Employment, Rafa Climent, has highlighted that the investment for 2023 is the largest made so far "and demonstrates our real commitment to business parks so that they continue to be the economic engine of municipalities and counties and to place them at the centre of the industrial policy of the region of Valencia".
Eligible actions include civil works for the total or partial supply of services and/or infrastructures such as electricity, gas, fibre optics, telecommunications and water to the industrial estate, which will provide a greater supply to companies, and the construction of large infrastructures that benefit the industrial area, such as a railway halt, bridges or the creation of access roads to the business park.
The acquisition of land adjoining the industrial area will be subsidised for the extension of roads, green areas, car parks and accesses, as well as the establishment in the industrial estate or on adjoining land of a service station, multi-purpose centre, post office, bank offices, sports facilities, children's education centre, hotel and health and catering services.
Also included is the improvement of the electricity supply, water supply and the provision or improvement of the gas supply, the generation of renewable energy for the entire industrial estate, the implementation of a system that allows the correct identification of the LER codes (European Waste List) of the waste generated, the creation of a web tool with information on the industrial area or the creation of a census of companies in the industrial estate.
Likewise, subsidies will be provided to improve the signposting of the streets and green areas, and the implementation of bio-healthy routes, road improvements through the creation of new car parks, wider pavements, new accesses, pedestrian walkways, road widening and lorry parking.
The adaptation of bus shelters for bus stops within the industrial estate or within a radius of 300 metres and the creation or improvement of electric vehicle charging areas/points within the business park (including electric bicycles and electric scooters) are also eligible actions.
Also included are the extension or creation of a sewage treatment plant, civil works to enable the installation of fibre optics, CCTV surveillance, the creation of cycle lanes, the improvement of street lighting, the fire prevention network and a separate sewage treatment system.
