The MoU was signed by Secretary General for International Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the president of Enterprise Greece, Ioannis Smyrlis, and Regional Governor, Fanis Spanos on behalf of the Region of Central Greece. The common objective of the different parties is to promote the Region of Central Greece as a business hub, in accordance with its development socio-economic strategy.
The Memorandum of Understanding gathers the following ideas:
• Presentation of the Region to the international business community
• Empowering the internationalisation of small- and medium-sized businesses in the region
• Showcasing the Region's products, services and cultural heritage
• Developing common studies, research and implementation of programmes aiming to develop a joint mechanism for participating in national as well as European co-financed programmes
• Promoting networking and sharing of best practices with other European Union regions
For Enterprise Greece, the agreement with the government reflects the effectiveness and competitiveness activity of the agency, and the potential cooperation developed with all Greece regions and the Region of Central Greece. These collaboration agreements contribute to the achievement of common goals, in this case, in the promotion of the sustainable and inclusive development of the entire country, which will put Greece on a path of prosperity in the long term.
The remarked subject of the MoU addresses the different current and global challenges. Mr. Smyrlis highlighted that the Greek economy has demonstrated outstanding resilience and that Greek businesses are growing larger, which is an important step toward future prosperity.
