Although companies are aware of climate issues, they struggle to implement a sustainable green strategy. Among these reasons mentioned, budget is one of the biggest obstacles to this transition. In that sense, the support and investment of RDAs to facilitate the green transition of organisation are crucial.
On Wednesday 26 January 2022 the wind turbine of the ZAE des Hauts-Sarts in Liège was commissioned. This green energy source is the result of a public-private partnership between Luminus (51%) and SOGEPA (49%) through the company DEMAINVEST SA. The latter is pursuing its policy of sustainable investment in the service of Walloon companies. The electricity from this wind turbine in the ZAE des Hauts-Sarts will be used mainly by the IT company NRB and will allow it to save around 1,837 tonnes of CO2 per year. The surplus electricity will be made available to other companies in the ZAE.
With the actual context regarding the sustainable development global needs, SOPEGA, through this project stands out as the preferred solution to support companies in their energy transition.
