Attica regional development fund continuing its collaborations at a global level participates in the ICP-AGIR program

We are happy to announce that Attica regional development fund, our member from Athens, has achieve a new collaboration program with the European Commission (EC). This is the first phase of the new ICP-AGIR program in which only 6 bodies at European Union level were approved to participate in partnerships with Asian cities.

The ICP-AGIR program aims to promote the improvement of quality of life of participating cities, by promoting sustainable and integrated urban development, through the identification of innovate policies and programs.
The Attica PTA, working methodically and purposefully in the context of the development of its international collaborations, achieved a new approval of its proposal by the EU for cooperation with the metropolitan area of the city of Gwangju in South Korea.
It is a program implemented by the Office of Foreign Policy Tools and the EU Secretariat-General for Regional and Urban Policy. Following an open invitation from the EU in October 2021 through a competitive bidding process, the best individual proposals and potential bilateral cooperation between actors were identified, in the field of development included in the first call for proposals.

Thanks to Attica PTA achievement, representatives from the participating regions (metropolitan cities of Athens and Gwangju) for a period of 14 months will take part in bilateral collaborations (eg exercises on successful actions, work missions, networking, etc.) aiming at improving knowledge & strategies applicable to the policy area specified in the relevant call.
We are sure they will take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in the participating metropolitan areas & regions, promoting sustainable and integrated urban development, through the identification of innovative policies and programs, as a result of bilateral cooperation.
