According to José Ángel Lacalzada, the regional councillor for Autonomous Development, the aid was provided to 385 companies, including 478 self-employed workers, through 727 applications. Additionally, ADER has allocated more than €2 million to the traditional lines of aid, such as investment, R&D, digitalisation, internationalisation, and self-employment, among others, between 2020 and 2022.
Lacalzada pointed out that the Government of La Rioja aims to promote a more balanced, prosperous, and sustainable region, and therefore, ADER will always support the region's businesses and workers. Moreover, the government has increased ADER's budget to over €36 million this year and has opened the application period for the first eight lines of aid worth more than €5,5 million.
In Alfaro, the regional government's investment also includes an extraordinary call for Sustainable Tourist Plans in Destination, which has secured 1 million euros for the town under the Enorregión project. The project aims to improve the Roman sites in the locality.
SEPES, the state-owned land entity, is also executing a €5,2 million investment in the La Senda industrial park to carry out the line from Tudela to Alfaro, the electrical substation, and the interior electrical repairs of the park.
The region's business environment has also been boosted by the consolidation of the ADER as an open and available entity to all companies, SMEs, and self-employed workers. Kraft Heinz's Picasso project in Alfaro has been declared a Regional Strategic Interest, with an investment of €70 million over the next two years. This investment is the largest made by the company in the last 20 years outside the United States.
The Government of La Rioja's investment in Alfaro and ADER's aid allocation reflect their commitment to promoting a more robust and sustainable economy in the region.
