Put Your Region in the Spotlight: Host a Clusters meet Regions Workshop.

Article written by Jip Lenssen - Project Officer

The European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), on behalf of the European Commission, in collaboration with EURADA, invites regions to apply for the opportunity to host a Clusters Meet Regions workshop. These workshops showcase regional strengths, connect local cluster communities with the wider European network, and foster partnerships that strengthen industrial ecosystems and enhance regional resilience.

The Clusters Meet Regions initiative brings together national and regional cluster organisations, policymakers, and development agencies to share best practices and shape effective development policies. Hosting one of these workshops provides a unique opportunity for regions to gain visibility and solidify their position within the broader European cluster ecosystem.

EURADA has proudly hosted the last three editions of AGORADA+ alongside these workshops. Past events include Zagreb, Croatia (2022), hosted by SIMORA and Croatian EURADA members, and Kraków, Poland (2023), in collaboration with the Regional Development Agency of Malopolska (MARR). Here, you can find all the information and recordings of previous Clusters Meet Regions editions.

This year’s edition was held last week in Charleroi, Belgium, hosted by our member IGRETEC, once again demonstrating the significant impact of this collaboration, as we welcomed over a hundred participants. At this year’s event, many foundations for lasting collaborations were established, further enhancing the strong ties within the European cluster community. Click here to view photos from the event.

The ECCP consortium is now accepting applications from regions interested in hosting future workshops. As a host, your region will receive support from EURADA in planning, promotion, and coordination with key stakeholders, including the European Commission. Applications can be submitted by individuals or consortia engaged in regional economic development, with support from a regional authority being a key criterion.

The next application deadline is 20 December 2024, by 18:00 CET (Brussels time). For more information, please consult the Call for Expression of Interest and the White Book, which outlines the entire organisational process and procedures. Should you be interested in hosting a Clusters meet Regions workshop, please apply using this Application Form.
