Following the survey results of the kick-off meeting, the second WG meeting prioritised issues related to funding. In particular, the session was entitled “EU Funding and other Financing Resources for Smart Innovation in Historical Cities” and featured Mr. Rui Barroso, DECSIS director, who provided from his city experience examples of digital innovation projects developed on the modernization of the public sector, regional infrastructure on broadband, and energy efficiency fund EEEF and Mr. José Miguel Costa, POCITYF project coordinator, who discussed Horizon Europe funding opportunities for cities. Among many others, EURADA members from OKA, Plovdiv, REDASP, and ADR NordEst also joined in the discussions.
The Smart Heritage Cities Working Group is a high-level discussion group aiming to gather experts and practitioners to share knowledge on the topics of smart cities and communities in cultural heritage areas. A third meeting is foreseen by June 2021, before the summer break.
